Easy walk to beach!
The pluses: great location--one block off the beach, which is a one-minute walk away. Has one off-street parking spot (gravel strip next to building), which is also nice. It's an older building in the process of getting fixed up, so it has some period charm combined with some updated features. The owner was very helpful and responsive--returned email, phone call within minutes. I felt like the owner really cares about the experience of the tenants. Condo was clean and neat when I arrived. This end of the Ocean City strip is not as busy as some areas so it's quieter than other places I've stayed, yet one can still find food, drink, supplies, etc. We went to eat out at Blue Coast in Bethany--easy cab ride or drive, great food. Balcony feels more spacious than usual because it’s an end unit (so open on two sides) and there is a parking lot in front of the building, so you actually have an open view of most of the rest of the block--you can see two slices of ocean. Bathroom has new shower and is big enough to move around in. Kitchen has full-sized fridge, new-looking counter-top and worktable in addition to the eating table. Second floor location means LR is sunny and bright. Security deposit was returned promptly. The minuses: The "den" is not a separate room as the word implies: the bunk beds occupy/fill up a wide spot in the short hallway that runs between the living room to the kitchen and bathroom; anyone in the LR or BR who needs to use the bathroom at night will walk right past them--no room for doors or other separation from the other spaces. Could go either way/might not matter: the only bedroom has a queen bed (good) which about fills it up (~16" on either side of bed--tight but do-able for most). It has a dresser but no room for a closet or chair and no window. Bedroom is separated from the living area and hallway by a set of bi-fold louvered doors. This is good as you get some air from the big floor unit a/c in the living room even when the doors are closed. But it also means there is only visual, not acoustic, privacy. Bathroom door opens off of kitchen. Bunk bed-dwellers have only a small dresser in a cupboard /closet (with clothes rod) that separates the bunk beds from the kitchen. Overall: good value for a long weekend or short trip for 2-4 people who know each other really well. We had a good time even though we got rained off the beach one day. I'd rent it again!
