Great location, value
We've loved weekend visits to Borrego over the years and finally decided to spend a week there and see if you could really "unwind" and get away from it all. That you can--this town puts you at peace and allows you to really feel connected to the environment around you and tune out the noise in your mind from back home. It's hard to imagine your only a couple of hours away from the coast--it feels like an entirely different planet. There was a negative review from a person who was surprised that there wasn't much going on in Borrego--this is not the fault of this house--it's the nature of the place it's situated in. And for us, it was perfect. This house is well situated on a beautiful lot in one of Borrego's finest communities, De Anza Country Club. The pool is truly gigantic though the cover does a good job of keeping it warm (assuming you are not there in the winter). Our favorite part of the trip was just lounging outside by the pool. The house is charming, bright and pleasant. But I have to take off a star because everything is not in terribly good repair. The couches are worn out, the outside patio furniture cushions need to replaced (filthy), everything is extremely old. And no I don't mean in a cool, mid-century kind of way. Just sort of 80s old. All that being said, the home is priced commensurate with its condition and you don't really mind the old furniture after a couple of days. The owner is extremely attentive, friendly, and very helpful--we will likely return.
