First South Haven Experience
This was the first time my family has gone to South Haven and it did not disappoint. The area itself is just beautiful! We did not know what to expect, but enjoyed our time. When we booked, the choices were limited so this place looked decent, seemed on the cheaper side, and the owner was nice/responsive so we booked. What we didn't realize is that this is a duplex and the owner lives in the same house but has a separate entrance. It was fine, but it was just strange this wasn't disclosed. It was an older place and defintely could use an update. You get what you pay for. Only A/C is in the 2 bedrooms (window unit), no washer & dryer (a week is a long time to go w/o washing beach towels), and it's a bit run down. We have rented from VRBO before and there has always been a washer/dryer so I didn't think to look. I didn't like that there were no blinds or curtains in the front room so we had to be careful at night. The beach access isn't a far walk but there are several steep stairs you have to climb so if you are planning to take a cooler, prepare yourself. We went to the main beach where parking is $10/day. However, the owners are very nice. Overall, if you are looking for something cheap, this is it.
