The Hideaway, still cute but lost some of it's luster...
We stayed at the Hideaway in 2013 and absolutely loved it and found it so charming, but after visiting again for 4 days this past week 12/11/15, we were a little disappointed. A new fence and gate was added but has wide gaps and the little dogs could still escape to the other side, which would be ok if the neighboring gate were kept closed. Some of the cute interior decor was no longer there, missing the cool sterno fireplace on the wall and some of the track lights were burnt out. While the kitchen is all open shelving and baskets, the shelves were very grimy, the dishes were all dirty; glasses had lip and finger prints on them, YUK! Very apparent the place hadn't been given a good scrub in a long time. So relying on guests to do the cleaning isn't working. The throw rugs are frayed and not clean. The futon, while cute, is thin and THE most uncomfortable thing to lay on to watch TV and the mattress on the bed absolutely horrible. Thankfully, there are lots of pillows, but I had to wonder when they had last been cleaned as well. Overall, we had a good time, but noticed some obvious wear and tear this time around.
THE HIDEAWAY charming tiny 1BR, deck, woodstove, WIFI, A/C, pets OK, near hiking
