Like a home away from home!
My husband and I stayed at Owls Echo during a long weekend in early October. It was easily accessible and located in a beautiful gated community. The community itself has plenty of things to do (horseback riding, hiking, tennis, restaurant etc.), however it's a close drive to Boone and Blowing Rock. There was also an old general store nearby that offered delicious takeout and ice cream. The location of the home offers plenty of privacy. The property is well-maintained and offered plenty of room for our two dogs to roam around. Though we didn't use them, there were two outdoor kennels that were clean and safely gated. The house has a beautiful wrap around porch, with plenty of comfy seating in the front and the back. The hot tub was clean and nicely heated. The view from the back porches (upstairs and down) was AMAZING! It was so nice to wake up to an unobstructed mountain view, and the sunset was even more incredible. OK, now the house.... It was just the two of us and the dogs, so it felt huge, yet warm and cozy. It was perfect for two, but it would also be comfortable for two couples or a small family/group. There was ample seating throughout the house. We slept in the downstairs bedroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The showers were hot (just perfect), and the linens were quality. The kitchen was very well stocked and organized. But the most important thing to me was cleanliness.... and this home was CLEAN. The kitchen, the bathrooms, the linens.... Spotless. Overall, the home was cozy, convenient, and stunningly beautiful. The home owner was readily available and responded quickly to inquiries before our arrival. We didn't have to contact her during our stay, as there were no issues. There's also a convenient book with home and area information that answered any questions we might have had. We will definitely plan to stay here during our next mountain vacation.
