We stayed at Carolina Sunrise for nearly a month, we never tired of the view. Every day was a beautiful site, even on days that it rained. The ever changing tide and sunrises are breathtaking. The peace and solitude are refreshing. The walks on the beach, addicting. So much to see and hear on these walks, no noise, just waves and wildlife. The beautiful wrap around deck allows you to enjoy all these things without needing to leave the house. When you want great restaurants and shopping, all are within a 15 minute drive. We had many great meals at several restaurants. We enjoyed the carriage ride around historic Beaufort. We also visited Parris Island for the Marine graduation that takes place every Friday. No need to have a marine graduating to attend. They have a self driven tour and information at the visitors center. The nearby town of Port Royal has a farmer's market every Saturday, even in the winter months. They offer local produce, seafood and meats, home baked items and crafts. Port Royal also has several great restaurants, two of our favs were Moon Doggies and Mikk's. Mikki's is located in a one room schoolhouse. Next to Mikki's is a small wildlife preserve with walking decks thru the woods. We very much enjoyed our stay at the appropiately named Carolina Sunrise. Can't wait to return.
