Cozy Cabin Getaway
My boyfriend and I had a lovely time at the original Gingerbread Cottage. We stayed for two nights in late October with the goal of being analogue (for the most part!) and spending some quality time together. The directions that Pat provided to us were very clear, and we arrived to find the fireplace nicely warming the cabin and plenty of room for our getaway. There was a book of recommended activities for us to read, which helped us decide on taking a leisurely stroll through the forest trail behind the cabin to reach the beach and clay cliffs. We also really liked the option of watching Netflix or Hulu while having breakfast or dinner, and having a small, well-stocked kitchen to use to make our meals. The only things we noticed that could use improvement were that the fridge handle and racks were very wet (perhaps the freezer had thawed and melted ice onto everything when it was plugged in for our stay) and that the living room furniture was a bit dirty--noticeable only because of the white fabric. The place could've also used a vacuum before our arrival--other reviewers noted cobwebs, which we also saw but did not mind too much. Travellers should also note that the bathroom is a bit small and that the shower isn't in a separate stall, so the bathroom floor and toilet will get wet. However, all of these were minor things that did not affect our overall enjoyment of the cottage.
