Cozy, Clean and Comfortable
Robin's Nest at Roaring Creek is a peaceful get-away. Although it is located in a residential area, the property is quiet and secluded. The house is roomy and well equipped. There was ample space for our group of 7. Our purpose for being in the area was to hike at Grayson Highlands. If you love the outdoors and want to take a long or short hike, Grayson is well worth the drive. What little time we had left after hiking, we spent on the porches ar Robin's Nest. The property is owner managed. The owners are quick to respond and attentive to details. The area where the house is located is remote. We stocked up on supplies and food at Ingle's in Newland. It was a bit difficult to find the house. After entering the Roaring Creek Community we passed an "industrial" looking area. Beyond that, it becomes residential. Robin's Nest is secluded behind trees so it took us a couple of passes to find the driveway. To make certain we found it when going and coming in again, we tied a white flag (a.k.a. an Ingle's grocery bag) to a limb at the end of the drive. The owner's plan to have the driveway upgraded. Maybe reflectors can be included at each end of the drive which would help in spotting it.
