60s Beachcombers
The place was a bit hard to find initially but once located we found it enjoyable. We found the room clean and presentable, and the refrigerator had cold drinks for us! We were very impressed at the size of the bathroom. The room was about a 5 minute walk to the beach and we could hear the waves on the beach at night. Parking was good and the area was awash with things to do! We personally enjoyed many walks along the beach, both in the morning and at night. One thing to note is that public transport in the area seemed to be very light-on, and it was providential we had a car for our brief stay. The room is not serviced by public transport at all, but I would suspect UBER services could be used quite effectively. The owners were helpful and didn't intrude on our privacy at all, yet were available immediately when we locked our keys in the room. As with any tourist attractive area, prices vary quite a bit between shops. I would encourage others to really restrain from spending any money until you have researched different shops and the prices. While we found some real bargains, a lot of our purchases were quite expensive, even when compared to Waikiki prices! General groceries were a bit difficult to come by, and we ended up having to drive a bit to a Longs Drugstore for our consumables. The restaurants and small eateries in Halaweia were excellent. Any visitor to this area MUST set aside time to watch the sunset from Sunset Beach. We didn't have time ourselves to do any snorkelling, but I would recommend anyone set aside time for this activity themselves. We recommend this rental for anyone wanting to base themselves along the North Shore of Oahu, and will encourage our friends to explore this place for any trips they may be taking to Hawaii in the future.
