Wonderful Jewel of a Home!
We absolutely loved the Front House of the Woodburn Bungalows! It is filled with character, and the layout of the house made it feel as though one was in a small hobbit house. The beds were comfortable, and the wrap around windows in the two upper bedrooms made the rooms all the more inviting. The bathtub was nice and deep and perfect for soaking. One caveat - there are steps going into each bedroom, and the entry into the tub is quite deep, so if you are traveling with an elderly person or someone requiring zero entry, you may need to look for a different house. As it is, we would have happily taken this house off of it's foundation and brought it home with us! As for location - it is close to a grocery store and a ton of restaurants. We loved visiting the Ivywild School - had a lovely breakfast at the Old School Bakery and loved the vibe of the Bristol Brewing Company (thanks for that tip, John). The zoo is a quick drive up the hill, as is the Broadmoor Hotel. We visited the Garden of the Gods twice and zipped up Highway 24 to Manitou. The neighborhood itself was very quiet and relaxing. All in all, we can't recommend this place enough, and will hopefully return for more last minute staycations.
