Dated cabin, but perfect location
My husband, dog, and I stayed for a couple of nights and it had everything we needed. Although the condition of the cabin is very dated it was a really quick walk to the Village where all the shops and restaurants are (about 5-8 mins) and a quick walk to the Big Bear Marina (about 5-8 mins) where we rented a pontoon. Therefore, you can't beat the location. The cabin has two standard bedrooms and an open loft which functioned as a bedroom as well. There is one full bathroom downstairs and a half bedroom upstairs in the loft. The kitchen seemed stocked with the usual things you would need (dishes, pots, utensils, microwave, coffee maker, etc.), however we did not cook in the kitchen. We brought our own plastic cups and didn't use any dishes. There are a couple of balconies that had lake views which was really nice. You wouldn't know it from the description, but the property does have a nice lake view -- especially from the upstairs balcony. A plus was the upgraded television equipped with HBO and Showtime along with other channels, a DVD player, and WiFi that had zero connectivity issues. The backyard is not fenced, therefore you would not be able to leave your dog unattended -- this didn't present an issue with us. In general, as stated before, expect a dated cabin. Old fixtures, carpet, furniture, curtains, kitchen, bathroom, shower, etc. Nothing fancy about this cabin at all. A lot of creaks in this place. But with clean towels, linens, and a few essentials provided (small bars of soap, small bottle of dish liquid, and toilet paper) it was a good stay. If you don't plan to spend all day and night in the cabin, but need a comfortable place to stay close to mostly everything then this is the place for you!
