What a wonderful place to stay. It is a home away from home and certainly was made to feel that way. The Platt river is literally ten yards outside the back door. Brown and rainbow trout are abundant and waders are necessary to fish it but they are there. this would be a fishermans paradise. it was for me. the sunroom was the favorite room because it was warm and cozy but with the windows cracked you could listen to the flow of the river while a soft breeze keeping things comfortable. no dishwasher, no clothes washer and dryer so be aware of that. electric stove and a charcoal grill for cooking. we used both. Staunton park is a very nice park for the kids and adults alike. safeway is the nearest grocery store about 15/20 minutes up 285 towards Denver. in bailey there is a dispensary called sunrise solutions, in case you were interested in partaking in some of Colorado's green rush. this is a non-smoking house though so take it outside or eat it inside. didn't see a neighbor while I was there. the fireplace is a real one and smells like one too, absolutely loved that aspect. If you are looking for a place to stay that feels like a home, is just outside of Denver, on the Platt river and 5 minutes from a local town than this is it. 8000 feet above sea level makes for some beautiful nights looking at the stars. the master bedroom bed had a tempur-pedic mattress on it, it felt like. extremely comfortable. next chance I get I will be back. thank you, you two for renting your home out. Potice cabin should be your next rental. I have att as cell phone providers and I had 2 bars minimum the entire time. If you ever wanted to drink a cup of hot coffee while sitting on a wooden swing in the cool mountain air while watching the sun come up over the mountains 5 feet from the Platt river then sign this place up.
