The Feel of Wooded Seclusion, Fall Reflections on the Lakes, Security An Added Plus!
My husband and I have been making several yearly trips to these mountains for more than forty years. We've always favored lodgings and locations that were off the beaten path. This beautiful home offered perfection on both. Every time the wind stirred through the bounty of hardwoods around the house, a gentle slurry of reds, golds, yellows and oranges floated all around you. I could readily imagine the beauty of snow; and the lush green of springtime in this prime forestland. We hiked a good many of the trails, most which led to large and small waterfalls. My husband fished in all five of the community lakes. Several times each day we walked the paths around the lakes and golf-course. My husband is a retired golf-course irrigation supervisor and we have NEVER seen such a beautifully designed and maintained course. Morning and evening small groups of deer and wild turkeys grazed just beneath the front deck. The high wall of glass in the living room gave the feeling of being outdoors. The kitchen had sparkling new appliances (a refrigerator to die for!) and we cooked every meal at home, The king bed was comfortable ... in fact the whole house cozy and beautifully decorated. We rented this house for two weeks and other than grocery runs into the quaint little town of Brevard - we had no reason to leave this 4000 acre community.Everything we visit these mountains to do was right there! On practical note: Being a right good bit older than our first trip to these mountains, we were very surprised at how appreciative we were of the gated and staffed security entryways and the community's fire and paramedic stations. These safety amenities blended beautifully into the wooded habitat. This a wonderful vacation home in an unbeatable location.
