Great time on the Beech!!
I just got married on 9/24/16. We had never been to the mountains before so we decided to go there for our honeymoon! David and Rachel's condo was exactly what we needed and while we never met in person David was very helpful and quick to respond to questions even before we booked. The condo itself is located in a very quiet area of Beech Mountain but not far from adventure and great food! The condo includes all the essentials. Dishes and cookware, stove, oven, coffee pot and a comfy bed. My wife loved the Jacuzzi tub and I had a hard time leaving the back deck, which you can watch the sunrise from, by the way. If we had taken our son the pullout couch/bed would have been very useful and the condo even has a wall that can be pulled out to separate the living room area from bedroom for more privacy. We spent most of our time there hiking and seeing the sights and I was pleasantly surprised about how close everything was. We saw The Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, the Rough Ridge trail on the Parkway, the Linville Falls/Caverns, and even drove into Tennessee to the beautiful Roan Mountain and never had to drive more than about 35 minutes to get to a destination. For groceries, Fred's General Mercantile is a nice little convenience store/gift shop/deli on top of Beech Mountain, and if they don't have what you need there is a food lion about 15 minutes away towards Boone. Some excellent restaurants we tried were Stonewalls, The Painted Fish, Portafino's in Boone, and my favorite, The Ham Shoppe. The Ham Shoppe boasts the best sandwiches in the world! Well I haven't seen the world yet but so far I believe them! Overall our stay was perfect! Thank you David and Rachel for an awesome honeymoon! Hopefully we'll get to visit again sometime!
