Very nice property!
Staying at the Ilikai is a great experience for those wanting an active stay in Honolulu/Wakiki. Easy access both directions from Ala Moana to Diamond Head and further utilizing tour busses which pick you up (for a nominal fee). Hilton Hawaiian Village and the beach walk from there to the Shorebird is easy access and part of our morning and nightly routine. 1836 is a well appointed unit with a good view. Please note you must look sideways to get the ocean view between two buildings (Hilton and Ilikai). In general the straight forward view is the Hilton Tower. With that being said the cozy chaise for two on the balcony looks at the ocean and puts you in a position to watch the Friday night fireworks display that seems almost three dimensional from this location. Fabulous! Again, 1836 is a very well appointed luxury condo in the Ilikai. The down side to the condo is this: view is misleading from the photos, the chaise for two on the balcony collapsed twice as the legs are held together with tape--in need of professional repair, and blow dryer did not work. Additionally there were no top sheets on the beds?..Just a bottom sheet and comforter to cover yourself with...Very interesting as I ask one question---Do they wash the comforter after every visit? All in all a solid 3.5 stars. I would be willing to stay again as long as the chaise is fixed and full sheets were part of bedding. I come to Honolulu twice yearly, have stayed at the Ilikai, and recommend this unit.
