This Apartment Worked Well For Us
We rented this apartment for a couple of nights while we visited Universal Studios. The location is less than 20 minutes away and worked out well for us. We did not hit any traffic to/from Universal. I have to say that the communication from the owner, Rebecca, before, during, and after our stay was absolutely outstanding. The apartment worked out well for our needs. It had air conditioning, a television, a kitchen with utensils, plates, and glasses, a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and refrigerator. There is an upstairs and a main level bedroom. The upstairs bedroom is about 6 steps up. The downstairs bedroom has an unusual sliding door; the upstairs bedroom door has a low ceiling of about 5’ 7” so watch your head! The beds were comfortable; there is no dresser or large table to place items; there are small nightstands. The one bathroom is up the stairs and adjoins the bedroom. It was stocked with soap and shampoo and there were plenty of towels but not many towel racks. For some, the noise from the air conditioner vent may be loud in the upper bedroom; for others, it may present white noise making it easier to sleep. Besides the air conditioner, there is also one portable fan for the apartment. As with any old place, the wooden floor creaked a bit – especially the stairs. You won’t be able to sneak around in the apartment! We found parking to be limited. We initially tried the flat land across the street and in front of the apartment but had more luck on the side streets on the hill behind the apartment. We did see a few homeless people living on the streets in the area. You enter the apartment via two codes. There is a security main gate with a combination lock. Once through, you climb up the stairs – maybe 15 steps – and then there is an August lock on the front door. You need to download the August app to your smart phone (preferably before arriving) and then turn on Data and Bluetooth. The phone and lock communicate, you press one button on the app, and you either unlock or lock the door. It worked really well for us. All in all, this apartment met our needs.
