After a drive through a thick forest, ending on a dirt road, we arrived, my son and I, in this magical place. It is quiet, very quiet beside the sounds of deers and birds. The house has a front porch over looking oak trees. The first feel is of simplicity yet very well designed, with lights everywhere you need one to be, chairs to read or meditate, a very conformable bed and a loft for kids to sleep in upstairs. We felt home right away, the tap water is a private well water and feels great! The host, Olivia, is a lively woman, grounded within herself and her land, a pleasure to meet and talk to. There is poison oak everywhere so don't go off the paths... You need to be a lover of nature and silence to love this place, a lover of well crafted simplicity. I was dropping my younger son to UCSC and needed an extra night alone after to reflect, meditate and be by myself to honor the past and welcome a new future. I LOVED this little house so much and felt very welcomed and comfortable, respected in my wishes to be alone and welcomed when I needed to walk the little path toward the main room for wifi and maybe a little chat. The toilette is a compostable toilette, I loved it, but some people might find it less appealing. It does not smell. The kitchen comes with a little cooking oil and salt and pepper not much else, so bring your spices. Everything is organic and GMO free, witch I love with a passion. Restaurants are a 15 minutes drive away, and you won't want to leave anyway, so come with your food. The listing description is very accurate, the house is very clean. Overall I enjoyed my stay with my son and alone as well, i will come back here as often as i can when i visit him during his college years and will definitely recommend this place to all the people I know who love nature and peace. Blessings to all and thank you Olivia for being you and creating such a wonderful space for self healing and Being!
