Nice Lake George MI Cabin
We stayed at this property in mid-June 2015. The property is as advertised. The home is on the opposite side of the road from the lake (hence the name Lakeview) and does provide a great view of the sunrise. Easy access to the "public" dock. The interior is well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed the large deck on the front of the home and utilized the 2 burner gas grill. Sadly it rained almost the entire time we were staying so there was no swimming which seemed ok as the lake temperature was a bit on the cool side. We did take plenty of walks on the sand roads in between the showers and pleasantly there were very few flies and mosquitos. Things to note about the property and Sandy Shores in general: - Property is dog friendly but you will need to bring your leashes. There is a long tie out for 1 dog on the deck - There were a few loose dogs running about so like any where else, you need to be aware when walking your dog(s) - The water is from a shallow well. You should bring bottled water for you and your pet. Our dogs turned up their noses when I tried to use the well water in the watering bowl. I suggest gallon sized or larger from KMart/Walmart in West Branch or from your home. - The water pressure is actually pretty good. The shower was very nice. Sufficient water pressure and plenty of hot water - The kitchen has everything you'll need to cook except perhaps some spices. A nice variety of pots, pans and utensils. - Mattresses in the 2 bed rooms were very comfortable as was the pull out sleeper sofa - Check the "Home Rental" book in the cabin for any handwritten updates and notes. We found an updated WiFi code there - The driveway is unimproved and very narrow. If you have an Van or SUV, you need to be careful when you pull in. - The AC worked well and did cool the bedrooms. Everyone slept comfortably. - Everyone we met was very friendly. Take time to talk to say hello and chat as you pass - The Laundromat on "Rose City" road is very clean and reasonably priced. The associated gas station with convenience store was well stocked. Gas prices were the same as Rose City and West Branch - The nightly rate for the property is in line with the going market rate for similar properties in the Sandy Shores community. The cleaning and dog fee were in line with other VRBO properties. We are looking forward to booking this property again in the future. If not later this year, then for a week in June 2016.
