Ideal farm experience for the whole family!
Coming from a major city, we have zero contact with rural life. We did not know what to expect, traveling over 3000 miles to Galusha Hill. Our trip could not have had a more relaxing, educational, fascinating, warm, and fun! The owners, John and Dallas, met us with wide smiles and open arms. We rented the Farm House, which had plenty of space for our whole family, and a perfect view of the lovely and charming sheep and goats grazing just yards away. Occasionally one would slip the fence and be found peacefully grazing in our front yard. The house is fully equipped with a kitchen, breakfast nook, a formal dining room, and even a washer and dryer (much used as we got sat with the docile, beautiful animals, swam in the lake, hiked through forests, well-marked trails, and even a fern gully, which this city girl didn't even know was a real live thing.) Dallas provided the most generous and varied meals for our stay, more than we could ever eat in one sitting! And we discovered the satisfaction of feeding the pigs our leftover kitchen scraps like corn cobs and carrot tops. Did you know pigs will even eat corn cobs and avocado pits? They loved it! Our children played badminton, archery, and ate more than their shares of s'mores at our even fireside gatherings. That is unless they were rubbing bellies of the friendliest dogs and cats in the world (and some sheep and goats), rolling down the grassy knolls, or just running wildly in the wide open spaces of the countryside. We would absolutely return to Galusha Hill Farm. We learned and experienced so much, and feel like we developed new friendships and a real appreciation for farm life. Did I mention the sheep shearing? There was sheep shearing. did I mention baby goats? And lambs? Go! You won't regret this trip, it was lovely.
