Amazing Value lots of amenities (very pleased and surprised!)
We are on a tight budget and wanted to fit in a small vacation for our family. We didn't use the Long Barn Lodge as their rooms are tight and grungy (old carpet and yuck - at least what we recall from last winter). The rates per night for their cabins are steep although they include cleaning (I paid $85 for cleaning and we stayed 3 nights, much cheaper than the other places. We wanted a place we had room to roam, and could actually give the kids and ourselves space. AMAZING surprise this place (and I probably could avoid giving the review as prob giving away a great secret) - I LOVED not bring sugar/flour, seasonings, paper towels, oils, etc to cook with - made life much easier... and there was a lot of amenities- too many to mention. Kids didn't even want to go to the lake as they were too occupied with the cabin's pond and catching frogs most of the day. We just hung out at the back deck (hubbie on the hammock) listening to their screams of excitement - they caught over 10 frogs and fish (I'd recommend those as catch and release). They played on the fun tree swing and the nostalgic Atari that had a crazy number of games. We were 10X more pleased with this place than what was posted on the VRBO site. Definitely a diamond in the rough and we plan to come back in the winter (they had all kinds of snow gear there - sleds, snow toys, snow shoes) Very satisfied !
