Cozy Lake House in Perfect Location
I rented the Elmore Lake House in late May 2015. Both the interior of the house and the view from the deck of Lake Elmore and Elmore Mountain looked exactly as pictured. My mother was particularly pleased with how clean everything was. While staying here, we made easy trips to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, Bragg Farm Maple Sugarhouse, Montpelier, Cabot Creamery Visitors Center, Smugglers Notch, and the islands of Lake Champlain (including Saint Anne's Shrine on Isle La Motte). We walked the Stowe Recreation Path (and saw a baby red squirrel!) and even took a sunset cruise on Lake Champlain. We shopped in Stowe, enjoyed maple creemees and poutine from the Mountain View Snack Bar, and ate cider doughnuts from Cold Hollow Cider Mill. If you start missing the comforts of a city, nearby Morrisville has a large grocery store and a McDonalds. If you're feeling adventurous and have your passports, you could easily make a day trip to Montreal. We were optimistically hoping to see a moose and noted that a previous guest saw two near the lake house. Doug Bragg, the owner of Bragg Farm, told me that he has seen four moose in his lifetime and two of them were in Elmore! The entire process (booking the property, corresponding with Marne, checking in and out) was a pleasure and I recommend this property to anyone.
