Great location, quiet, very functional design for a small space.
We booked this property for a family vacation and to participate in the Ragnar Tahoe Trail Relay. I was a bit concerned with the square footage (a bit less than 600 sf.), but it was a well designed and utilized every bit of the space available. It featured a Murphy bed and a sofa with a pull-out double bed that was perfect for my 8 year old son. Great kitchen that was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, cups, glasses, plates and bowls. It even had an espresso machine, however no instructions on how to use it. Fortunately, there was a regular coffee maker. The deck out back was a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Serene Lakes was las lovely as advertised, and the property is adjacent to the Royal Gorge Nordic Center and has miles of excellent trails for hiking, running, and mountain biking. It's close to Truckee (about 13 miles), so grocery stores are close by. They also are pet friendly, and our Golden Retreiver Bisuit had a grand time! I would definitely recommend taking the historic Hwy 40 into Truckee-spectacular views and it goes past Donner Lake. Along the route you pass motels built in the 50's and reminded me of trips I took when I was a kid with my family. Do yourself a favor and stay off the interstate and drink in the views and the stroll down nostalgia lane. I wouldn't recommend it for more than 2 adults and 1 or 2 children, and it would be great if they had a BBQ grill on the deck. Otherwise, we had a fantastic stay. Thanks Greg, we'll be back!
