Perfect relaxation on quiet beach
Two families with 4 parents, three millennials, and three teenage boys spent Thanksgiving week on the beach. This Treasure Island location was perfect for us. The house is located on a quieter stretch, away from noisy hotels and timeshares, yet still quite convenient to shopping and amenities. There were plenty of beds for everyone, assuming you're ok with sharing rooms. Functionally, there are three large rooms with two sets of big beds in each, which could sleep as many as 12 people if couples shared beds. We were comfortable with one set of parents and one of the teenage boys in the big master bedroom, the other set of parents in the street-facing upstairs room, and the 3 girls in the downstairs bedroom with the two queen beds. The other two boys used the slightly awkward game/media room, which is something of a fishbowl curtained off from the main floor living room. It's not possible to use the media room while entertaining in the living room, as there's no means of blocking out noise. Still, it worked adequately for us as a fourth bedroom, and the boys were comfortable on the twin day bed + trundle. The kitchen is reasonably well appointed for a vacation rental, with a good assortment of gadgets and appliances. There are TVs in pretty much every single room, all connected to the streaming Roku service. You'll need to spend a little time authorizing your favorite channels and apps, but the wifi and media streaming was pretty robust. Living room has a projector (in addition to the TV in the wall unit) and pull-down screen, which was great for movies with the family at night. Sectional sofa had several lounge recliners for extra movie-watching comfort. Huge sliding glass doors opened completely to the veranda, providing open access to the ocean views from the living room and master bedroom. The bottom games and beach activities area was fantastic. 2 kayaks for taking out on the water, lots of sitting and lounging space with a little private sand yard, BBQ grill and smoker, and lots of beach toys for everyone. Kids loved playing pool and pingpong. The pool is tucked under the main floor of the house, so is shielded completely from the sun. The pool is on the small side, but great for taking a quick dip to cool off or just lounging with drinks in the evening. There's a shower outside to wash off sand before getting into the pool. Overall a great experience, would highly recommend for anyone with lots of people looking to relax on Treasure Island.
