A perfect little weekend.
My family had a perfect little weekend thanks in part to the Gisel's cabin. One of the main reasons we choose to stay at the Gisel's was the fact that they weren't trying to gouge us for staying into a holiday weekend. Their rates were reasonable, and I'd probably say cheap for what you get. Their parking space was quite large and easily accessible to their front door. Many cabins have very tight squeezes and are not convenient for unloading. The living room had ample seating around their TV and fireplace. And their kitchen space was open with a table large enough to seat six comfortably. There were plenty of utensils, pots and pans to choose from if you want to do some cooking. Actually, there is probably too many. Some are in poor condition and could probably be disposed of. I thought there was only one bathroom, but one of the bedrooms upstairs did have a toilet and sink. In regards to the main bathroom, there were plenty of towels left for our use, and enough wash cloths and hand towels. We never had an issue of running out of hot water, and there was an abundance of soaps and shampoos available for our use as well. We were lucky enough to get about six inches of fresh snow during our stay. The Gisel's lot was large and open enough to build a snowman and have a snowball fight. And if you want even more space, less than a quarter mile down the road is the Sugarloaf park. Since we traveled with our two boys, ages five and two, we were a little concerned with our little one going up and down the stairs while not supervised. However, to our delight we found an adjustable gate/guard in a closet that we put up to restrict access to the stairs. Along with that, there were several little features the cabin had that many would dismiss, but I just loved. There were about 15-20 hooks placed along the wall where we were able to hang all our damp jackets, gloves, hats, bibs, or whatever needed to dry. Two snow shovels were contained inside the cabin next to the door, with two retaining clips located outside the front door in case they were wet from use. And there was a rod above the shower, well high enough that it didn't disrupt using the shower, where you could hang really wet clothes or towels. We really enjoyed the comfort and peacefulness of the Gisel's cabin. I would definitely recommend their cabin to any family of four or five. For the price, this is one of the best deals you will find when looking to rent a cabin in the mountains.
