Fabulous Santa Monica Location - Everything you need near by
My husband and I welcomed our first child in June and our family rented Michelle's apartment for the month of July so they could each stay a few weeks to visit us and the baby. For us the location was perfect as it is just 3 blocks from our SM apartment - this allowed for them to be close by without actually staying with us in our apartment. Management - I can't say enough good things about Michelle, she was so easy to work with and was quick to respond when we had a question about the stay of the apartment. We even met the neighbors (there is another apartment next to the unit and one below) who share the outdoor patio - they were very friendly and welcoming. The Apartment - Very nicely decorated, modern but still warm and welcoming. They used the full kitchen a little bit for some light cooking and everything worked great. My sister and her daughter shared the pull-out couch a few nights, which they said was quite comfortable. The only negative is that the apartment is on the alley side which has noisy trash trucks in the morning once a week and there are chickens living across the alley who were loud in the morning on a few occasions. So if you are a light sleeper you may be woken up early... Location - Fabulous location! None of our family rented a car, they walked and used the bus during their trip and it was perfect. The apartment is walking distance to multiple coffee shops (we went to Love Coffee with my family every morning!) and restaurants on Ocean Park Blvd (Local has a great happy hour) and Bobs Market has everything you may need for cooking at the apartment. My dad loved the burgers at Shaka Shack - I think if he could have ate there everyday he would have. Thyme Café is a must - great brunch and lunch spot. If you are a yogi - Santa Monica Yoga is right down the street and is wonderful. You are a long walk or quick drive/bus ride to the ocean. The #8 bus runs right along Ocean Park Blvd and takes you right to the beach ($1.25 a ride) it is an easy option and lets you avoid beach traffic and fighting for parking. My sister and niece used the bus on multiple locations to go to the beach and even shopping at Santa Monica Promenade (same #8 bus gets you there) There is also a new Santa Monica bike share with bikes available for pick up a few blocks down on Ocean Park. My parents, in-laws and sister can't wait to come back to visit and rent this apartment again!
