A dacha in the heart of L.A.
I could tell from just looking at the photos on line that this was the place for me. It was like a fairy tale cottage stumbled upon in a forest, well in a clearing in a forest! Living in the high desert of Mexico I loved all the greenery surrounding the cottage and almost set about doing a little gardening just to keep in touch with my latent skills. The cottage was very clean and welcoming. I loved the king size bed as it was super comfortable but the reading light was the best I've ever had, including my own home! I could have just taken those little lamps home with me. And speaking of reading...there is an incredible library of amazing and interesting books and I wish my week wasn't so full as I could have had many happy hours sitting outside with a cup o'Joe and wandering through all those books. I loved the bath room as it was almost like taking a shower in the woods. Didn't do any cooking as Trader Joe's was a 15 minute walk away but the kitchen was well stocked and the coffee maker made great coffee...better than my espresso machine at home! I don't have HBO so it was fun to catch up on some shows I've missed. Oh, the first day I was there the door slammed shut behind me as I was doing a "weather test". I was able to walk over to my family's home a few blocks away where we called Dean, the manager, and he came to my rescue immediately. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend it's comfort, convenience and charm.
