Very nice location and property, but some logistical problems.
My husband and I stayed here for a wine-tasting weekend and it was a nice alternative to a hotel by the highway or the super-expensive winery resorts. The property is up on a hill with beautiful views and as other guests mentioned, it is nice and quiet. The room is very nice, clean and well maintained. We appreciated having the mini fridge and microwave to keep our snacks and leftovers. The shower had good water pressure. We had a few issues which didn't ruin our stay but nonetheless were annoying and not something you want to deal with while you're on vacation. The first issue was the Wi-Fi. Since this place is so remote, I wasn't able to get "3G" data signal on my phone. There was a wi-fi network and password posted in the room, however the password never worked (I texted the owner back and forth about this several times.) The owner mentioned there was supposed to be a second network that did not require a password, however there was no signal to this network in our room. This was frustrating. The other main issue was the hot tub. There is a lovely pool/spa area on the side of the house that we had access to. Unfortunately there are no lights out there (or at least ones we had access to.) So when we went to use the spa at night we had to stumble around in the dark using our cell phones for light. Also, the spa has to be turned on and you have to wait for it to get hot. The first night we did this and after the stated period of 45 minutes it was still only luke warm. We texted the owner about this but finally gave up and fell asleep. He said he had someone come out to look at it the next day. He said it was fine but that we need to wait 1.5 hours for it to heat up, instead of the 30-45 mins listed on the instruction sheet. We were able to use it successfully that night after waiting 1.5 hours for it to heat up, but, who wants to wait 1.5 hours to get in the hot tub? In the room itself, there was no hand soap to wash your hands after using the restroom. There were only 2 bath towels (every female I know uses 2 towels, one for her hair so there needs to be at least 3), and we had no way to get ice.
