Laughing Coyote Lodge is a beautiful respite from the everyday world. My partner and I loved being "unplugged" from everything for a few days and listening to absolute silence of the surrounding shimmering aspen trees. Within minutes of arriving we were greeted by several deer (and the birds, be sure to take binoculars) who were within 50 feet of the cabin. We were also greeted by two of the best hosts, Christine and John. who provided insight into short day trips from the lodge which were beautiful and full of memories. You must go and drive to Black Mesa, take a chair and a book and just sit in awe of the Rocky Mtns, as they jut out of the surrounding forest. From there, continue on FR 611 to Beaver Creek Park then turn around and come back the same way...absolutely stunning views in all directions. We stayed four days and can not wait to return. There are opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, daytrips, fishing, kayaking, boating, all within a few feet or few miles of the lodge. Or, there is plenty of beauty without leaving the lodge...sit on the patio, with a book, glass of wine (or beverage of choice) and just enjoy the moment...no matter, your choice of activity, you will enjoy. Kevin and Paulette are wonderful owners who will check in with you and answer any questions you have before your arrival and if you stay a few days, you may even meet them on the weekends. If I could attach pictures, I would...this is a beautiful, quiet, natural setting to meet anyone's outdoor expectations. Don't hesitate to spend a day or a few days at the Laughing Coyote. You will enjoy every minute.
