Run Down Unit with Poor Description and Poor Quality Management Company
Upon arrival unit does not face sparking pool, it faces a property fence and empty retention pond. DVD player was broken but since we had already rented a DVD had to go buy one at Dollar General Store. In the middle of the movie smoke detector starting chirping in guest bedroom. Battery door was open and battery had been removed and no replacement battery was available. Called after hours number and no one would come out till next morning to bring a battery. After hours number said she would continue to call people on her list and call me back shortly with an update but never did. Had to leave the condo a second time to get a 9V so my kids could sleep that night without the smoke detector going off every 5 minutes. Maintenance guy that was supposed to come first thing the next morning showed up at 2pm and walked into the unit while my 17 year old daughter was in the shower. No advance notice he was coming. As seen in previous review multiple electrical outlet covers missing and one outlet in the kitchen coming out of the wall. Fire extinguisher has not been inspected since December 2007. It should be criminal to charge money with these safety infractions, run down unit and poor customer service. There are multiple pet stains in the master bedroom. Paint needs updated. Couches are not comfortable. No TV in guestroom. TV in the master bedroom smallest I've seen in a rental unit. Bed in master was okay. Beds in guestroom were old and needed replacing. Cookware and dishes look like the owner went to the thrift store or garage sales to stock the kitchen. We have stayed at Ocean Village Club before without issues but this unit is disgusting. Management company not good at returning calls and wanted to argue the description of the units view over the phone despite what unit ad says and the fact is was the reason we booked that unit over another. If it doesn't face the pool don't say it does. And if you're going to rent to the public take some responsibility for their safety and comfort. When paying almost $200 a night one would think the unit would be in better shape. Very disappointed with Vacation Pro's and the Owner of the Condo for its condition.
