Agreeable accomodations that need some attention
The Hale Kamaole condo was large with a fully equipped kitchen, a nice surprise. It was easy to access on the ground floor. Having a washer/dryer in the unit was a plus. It was across the road from a lovely park and beaches as well as close to eating and shopping. The grounds and pool were well kept although the pools were not heated. The unit had plenty of towels including beach towels. Our biggest complaint is cleanliness. The bathroom smelled of mold and investigation found it on the shower floor and walls and in the door tracks and shower head holder. There was mold behind the cabinet doors in the bathroom. There was some rust showing through the wall corner. The corners of the floor were not clean. The entrance screen door and screen transom were very dirty. The louver window and air conditioner in the bedroom need to be thoroughly cleaned. Unit 105 is on the ground floor and quite close to the main road with attendant traffic noise. Given security considerations, I would recommend a unit on the second floor (there is an elevator) away from the main road. That way, one could leave the slider open at night for ventilation.
