Charming place, reasonably priced, and great location
The Beach Bungalow was perfect for our stay. I think it's one of the lowest rates that you can find for that area. The bungalow was warm during the day (no air conditioning), but that was clear in the description. It's not fancy, but very charming, nice, and clean. It happened to be unusually hot when we were there. The evenings were fine with the windows open and fans going. We had a little trouble finding parking a couple nights. The owners were very helpful and and accommodating and Olive the pug was a huge added bonus for us! The location was perfect for the plans that we had. We didn't end up spending much time at Venice Beach (not totally my taste), but spent a lot of time in Santa Monica and had a wonderful time. One day we walked to Venice and it was quite a hike, biking or driving is better. We drove to the beaches on subsequent days and it was no problem finding reasonably priced parking (off-season, summer may be different). We spent a couple days wandering around Hollywood and took the coastal hwy up through Malibu and around the mountains into Van Nuys. It was a beautiful drive along the coast.
