Relaxing place, would recommend
We stayed one week in July, two grandparents, two parents and three kids (13, 10, 6). The house is really adorable, both inside and outside. Inside it is comfy, the kitchen is enjoyable to cook in, and there are lots of different places to relax either together or quietly alone. The mesh-enclosed veranda at the back was a big hit. Outside the gardens are pretty and the lake has very few motorized boats so is quiet. The house is remote so there is a lot of privacy. We used the provided two kayaks and the paddle boat daily. On the lake we saw close up: an eagle that hung out on lake all week, a pair of loons plus a chick and a large heron; so that was a major bonus. There is very little to complain about, I suppose the only thing to mention, which is nothing really, is that the swimming access to the lake is not super easy. You can easily get in via the dock but its a little bit trickier getting out back onto the dock! The lake itself has a good slope to it so even younger kids can find a place to stand up. Our kids were in the lake every single day at least once, twice more often. We made a few day trips to different sights in and around the White Mountains and one day went as far south as Squam Lake on the northern side of Lake Winnipesaukee. There were far more things to go see within an hour's drive than we could have possibly ever covered in our one week stay. I know it sounds corny, but the free WiFi was a nice touch. Nowadays finding detailed tourism information is so much easier with easy access to the Internet. All in all, highly recommended.
