Sleeps a lot of people but NOT worth the price...
I should have known not to go with this property, as there were no reviews of it on VRBO. But we needed a 3-bedroom place near Turtle Bay. So for what it's worth... here's my review so others will have information. Please note that I regularly rent vacation places and own a vacation property. Good things to say about this place: 1.) Sleeps 6 people easily and could handle more 2.) Kitchen is well stocked with cooking implements and plates (altho not enough coffee mugs, which is what you need the most) 3.) There is a basket with lots of clean beach towels (much appreciated) 4.) Everything worked - except the the TV remotes needed batteries and light bulbs were out (that's on the property managers) And the rest of the review: 1)The unit was not very well cleaned - tubs were gritty, floor seemed sandy - expected better because of the steep cleaning fee. 2) Found dead cockroaches in the master bedroom. 3) AC in master worked but it's loud and blows right on you so that it's unpleasant. 4) The drains in the tubs run very slowly, which can explain their grittiness. 5) We couldn't close one guest room door without moving a bed. 6) The unit is VERY worn out, walls are scuffed, furniture seems very used 7) It's dated, which wouldn't matter to me if everything else had been OK. 8) We really didn't like the plastic mattress protectors. I understand why you have them, but they are really awful. We are homeowners of a rental property and we use the fabric waterproof pads that don't crinkle when you lie on them. 9) When we made the reservation, we requested a crib. No one responded at that time. Upon arrival, no crib. We had to call and wait for someone to show up. And BTW - I had tried calling in advance, left a message and never heard back from the property managers. 10) The "view" is the golf course with Kamehameha Highway right behind it. There is traffic noise all night long. 11) Plus if you've never stayed at the Turtle Bay condos before you should know that the only facility you can use at the TB resort is their public beach. There are a lot nicer public beaches all over the north shore. You cannot use their pool, but you can pay for any of their services. The restaurants there are pretty expensive - good for a special meal, but not regular dining. We ended up spending a great deal of money (with all the fees added on) for what I'd characterize as a marginal (at best) vacation rental. Never again.
