Lovely cottage, newly and tastefully refurbished. The master bedroom and ensuite bathroom are quite spacious with a walk-in closet. Occupants of the second bedroom use the smaller bathroom off the kitchen area, at the other end of the house. All was very clean and obviously well-maintained. The only wrinkle for us news hounds was the lack of cable TV but we were able to feed our habit with a Netflix news channel. The remote could be a bit cranky but the property owner was kind to run over on two occasions to help us out. We enjoyed picking up newspapers and French pastries every morning, all within a block of the house! Queen Street (the main drag for shopping) is a bit of a trek from the house location but would be do-able for those who do not want to drive and pay for on-street parking. As for NOTL itself, charm, charm and more charm. As my 89 year old mother stated, the beauty and lushness of the flower pots and boxes lining the storefronts are real sights in themselves. Homes and neighborhoods are exceptionally well-maintained in the historic old town. The town is packed on the weekends and restaurant reservations do seem necessary. Shopping is fun and can involve one leisurely day. Those who enjoy chain stores will have to visit a nearby outlet mall. We attended two plays and a musical concert, so the evenings were busy. The area is ideal for those who enjoy biking or visiting wineries, which are now plentiful.
