Very nice setting for a relaxing escape.
If you want to get off the grid, this is your place. Very peaceful setting with the stream sounds as your background noise. Fishing was a bit rough because there is an extreme drought right now, but the location is perfect. You can fish the backyard or drive to town to get to the French Broad River. I finally found the trout in the Big Laurel which is delayed harvest. They stocked it while I was there, so I didn't get skunked. The town of Hot Springs is worth the visit. A couple of pubs and a great family style restaurant. Don't wast time cooking, just eat there every meal. The cabin is very nice and the fire pit was awesome for evening relaxation. Normally, I would have loved not having internet or dependable phone service, but I am a risk manager from Florida, and we were having hurricane Mathew back home, so I had to find ways to communicate. Overall, a great place to escape. Highly recommend for anyone just wanting to get away and relax.
