An interesting old house
My husband and son and I stayed at the Little Yellow House for a week in September. It was OK for the price. the location was nice, near Lover's Point and a little over a mile walk to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We walked many places, and rented a bike for the week to share from Bay Bikes on Cannery Row. We also rented a Kayak at Lover's Point to paddle one afternoon. I recommend kayaking in the morning when there is less wind. The house is old. Some things have been updated more recently than others. The shower heads are vintage 80s low flow which are best for steaming a bathroom, but not so good for washing a person. The kitchen pots and pans look like they are whatever nobody else wanted, so they dropped them at the beach house. Sometimes the refrigerator closes, and sometimes it needs an extra push. I was glad someone else was paying for the electricity for that one. The beds were comfortable, and the odd bathroom format was not a problem with only three of us in the house. When we left, my son left a t-shirt on a chair in the yard where he put it to dry. When I called the manager/ cleaning lady a couple of hours later, she had thrown it in the trash. Be sure you don't leave anything behind, because anything you leave will be thrown away immediately. Also, we checked out on September 17, 2015. Today is October 5, 2015, and I am still waiting to see my deposit returned or an explanation of why we don't have it back. I have emailed and called, but apparently, the 24 hour response time is only when you want to rent the place, not when you want your deposit back.
