Comfortable & Clean "Base of Operations" for Vacation
My husband, daughter & I stayed during the week including Memorial Day weekend and found it a perfect place to stay for our needs. We are familiar with the island, knew what we wanted to do and see and this VRBO is a great "base camp" to enjoy the Island, especially the North Shore from. The unit was clean & the owner responsive to our 2-3 inquiries while there. We think we got a fair deal which met our needs and an honest owner. Enough space for the 3 of us with one huge issue of the bedroom is not separated by a door from the rest of the apartment - bedroom on one end of hallway, kitchen/living area on the other and bathroom/closet in middle. So no real privacy within the unit, tho sufficient for sleeping. The AC + 2 fans kept the apartment cool, but is a little inefficiently placed under a shelf & blows right on the bed. New air mattress with pump kindly provided for our daughter to use in the living room. Wifi worked well. Kitchen furnished with all the basics for eating in. It was perfect for our needs (ate in 2/3 of our meals) but forget making complicated stuff, even smoothies or bbqing. Even had basic condiments one is likely to not want to invest in at the store. Furnishings in apartment generally well worn, not updated, but certainly serviceable & adequate for our needs. Resort beaches, restaurants, pools, spa... all within 20 min walk. 2 beach chairs & well worn umbrella provided with apartment. Resort info not always exactly what is listed online - they suspended the luau menu Memorial Day weekend when we were there, had a surprise buffet at the Grille the next night and the pastor listed as holding Ecumenical services on Sundays has been deceased for some time & a rotation of pastors has replaced him. Our daughter's experience with the spa was good. The quality of the food at the restaurants seemed very good. The shop has a good stock of necessities. Staying at the resort meant we were on the North Shore but didn't have to fight weekend traffic to be there. We left the Resort on the weekdays and didn't encounter undue traffic. Overall, we would stay at Turtle Bay Resort again and possibly at this particular unit, after weighing the cost/facility options of other VRBO units within the Resort.
