Nice Ashland getaway
Angela's space was just as described... Spacious, airy, and nicely done. The apartment is part of the same building as their residence, but it has a completely separate entrance. We had the privacy we wanted, it worked out great. The living space was larger than we we expected. A couple of nice comfortable chairs and a sofa make it a good place to relax in the morning. In the separate bedroom, there was a nice comfortable bed surrounded by a deck on two sides where my wife and I enjoyed our morning coffee provided by the host (brewed by us). The weather was warm bordering on hot in downtown Ashland, but the apartment had a great cross breeze that kept us quite comfortable. I have no idea if it's air conditioned because it didn't matter. Not needed. Loved the air... My daughter and her friend enjoyed saying hello to the friendly horses on the property. There are only two downsides for us... The apartment is not walking distance to downtown, and there is no kitchen. But on the other hand, it made for a nice retreat from the busier downtown... And it gave us another excuse to try more Ashland restaurants, which we found generally quite good. Also the Ashland co-op near downtown has fresh food that can be brought back if that's you're thing too. We did end up grabbing food from there but ate picnic style in Lithia Park near downtown. Angela was available and willing to help with restaurant recommendations and hiking trail ideas, which we appreciated. We loved that she left us alone to enjoy our stay too! We were very fortunate to have found the apartment for our last minute trip... And even more fortunate when Angela let us know we were her first guests!
