Big house, on the river, hot tub, internet
This house rocked! We stayed Bella Ursula with basically three families: The traditional Mom/Dad plus child, a single Mom and child, and a single person (me). As you can tell from the web site; there are three big bedrooms. There is a room with two twin beds, a room with a king bed, and a room that is a suite with a queen bed and its own bathroom. There is also a couch was slept on but never folded out (and declared comfortable as such) as it was only used to escape snoring. We did bring a blow up bed, as for some reason one of the teenage children in our party preferred to sleep in the same room as his parents, rather than on the fold out couch....perhaps because his Mom, myself and the other Mom stayed up very late every night talking and laughing. Easier for him to go to bed with his Dad. This house was better than it looks on the website. You know how real estate ads make everything look bigger and brighter than the place actually is? Bella Ursula was the same size it looked on the internet and the deck was bigger. The river is right in the backyard (down a few steep steps) with a mini dock, a canoe and two kayaks. There were also plentiful inflatables and "noodles" to float around in the river with. The hot tub was the perfect size. Two adults can float all stretched out, or four adults can sit in it in a more civilized manner. Very nice gas grill on the back deck, on which we were cooked excellent meals by our professional chef/vacation co-resident. The house is configured so that people can hang out in different areas and/or the bedrooms without feeling crowded. I, being the single person, somehow won the king sized bed-bedroom all to myself. The room was directly off of the deck, but when I wanted to hide, I closed the sliding glass door and almost all noise was blocked. The king-sized bed is so king-sized that when I shared it with my platonic roommate who came to visit for one night, it was totally comfortable and not weird. The house is in a quiet neighborhood/street just outside of Guerneville. It's only a 5 minute drive to the Guerneville Safeway Grocery store. This means that there is no need to stock up on food or even go shopping before arriving at Bella Ursula. We had nothing but peace and quiet during our stay even though it was "Lazy Bear" weekend. Guerneville was hopping but we were chilling.
