Elegant and isolated
My girlfriend and I stayed in this cabin in late October. The road leading to the cabin is pretty steep but my 2WD car made it up and down just fine - I can imagine it'd be a more harrowing experience if there were a lot of wet leaves on the ground. The cabin itself is beautiful. Like another reviewer said, there are seeds of rustic cabin feel but it's decorated in a well-appointed, modern way. We didn't really appreciate how large the main room is until we got there: the lofted ceiling makes the cabin feel much larger than its footprint. The kitchen is well-equipped and had everything one would need to cook for several people. The three bedrooms are starkly different: upstairs is a very nice, cozy loft; the ground floor has a traditional bedroom; and the basement has an expansive bedroom that feeds into an enclosed sunroom that has a view of the mountains. That view is spectacular - even in summer the trees shouldn't obstruct it. We got to watch the fog of morning slowly lift through the day. While sitting out on one of the decks it's very quiet and peaceful unless there is a car going up/down that gravel road which usually takes a few minutes. Finally, the cabin is within an hour of many great hiking trails. The owners have kept a stockpile of maps and guides that were very helpful in helping us choose which hike to go on. There is also wifi if you need internet access. We really enjoyed this cabin and felt it could comfortably hold more than just the two of us. The location is great, and the view is as advertised. Thanks to the owners for letting us into their home!
