Needs updates for current living standards
Spider Lake is beautiful, however cabins need updating to reflect today's standards for living. No microwaves (a necessity in today's world), no air conditioning, no TV (what home is without at least 2) well water (bring plenty of bottled water or buy in town), slow toilets for water refilling after flush, swimming area not protected by buoy to keep boat traffic away from area, buoy sitting on the beach, children's play area in need of housekeeping, tall grasses around playset, broken swing, no seat on swingset, cabins #4 thru #7 are atop the hill making a steep walk to the beach area, all cabins require walking many steep steps to get to lakefront water. Our cabin was not equipped with bowls for morning cereal in fact, dishes were in short supply, and supplied knives were dull, some rusted. Other supplied kitchen utensils also had some rust. Cabin exteriors are in need of paint. Shower stalls are rusted and in need of replacement. Weber grills have rusted grills to place food on them. The grounds need attention as many of the trees are dead and need to be removed and other trees have branches that interfere with sight lines to the lake. The shallow water swimming area is stoney, be sure to bring water shoes. If you're lloking for a RUSTIC, aged resort this may be your cup of tea. We would not return for another stay until updates to the properties were accomplished.
