Owner's Professionalism & Integrity Questionable
I contacted this site to ask my original review be taken down so I could change my 3 star rating to a 1 star. My original review was pleasant about the overall stay, but was honest about taking pictures before guests left. Lana charged us for a ding in the kitchen sink that we didn't feel happened, at least while "we" were there. There was no way to prove we didn't do it, so we just settled for taking the charge. During the exchange of text messages trying to explain to her we hardly used the sink, her messages grew more and more unprofessional and unpleasant as they went on. Finally, we just said fine, charge us the $35 so we don't have to deal with her any longer. Because the way she conducted herself, it prompted me to write the first review warning other guests about taking evidence. Apparently she didn't like an honest review of our experience, because she sent me a snotty text saying she was going to rate us as a guest now. It's actually rather comical to see a person trying to conduct a business of sorts, behave in such an unprofessional and petty manner. My finace and I are very clean, respectful of other peoples' property, follow rules, and take responsibility if we were to accidentally damage something that is not ours. Since Lana apparently does not like when someone reviews her with less than 4 or 5 stars, she tried to seek revenge and went back to review us (as guests) with 1 stars across the board. This included: cleanliness, follows house rules, and a few other areas I didn't memorize. It makes me chuckle a bit, because we were incredibly clean (mainly just slept there), wiped down the kitchen and bathroom before leaving, ensured all heat was off and keys were returned to their places, followed her rules to a tee (even to include taking the trash out and wondering the property's premise in search of the dumpster that wasn't in the exiting directions), and even signed the optional guest book. I am advising all future guests to find another studio condo to stay around Sunriver, over this one. The place itself was okay for a crash pad, but the pillows are plastic, the throw pillows had someone else's hairs on them (same with the kitchen towels). We also had to do a quick check of the sheets before getting in, because it didn't look like it had been cleaned. Other than that it was fine. However, the distasteful behavior and business practice of this owner is the real turn off. Save yourself the headache and rent from someone else.
