A Week On The Farm
My family of 7 rented this beautiful farm house during the week of Spring Break. While the weather was drizzly, we enjoyed the beauty of the property and the animals. Molly, the property owner was very gracious, kind and welcoming, allowing my kids to play with her dogs and ride the horses. The house and property have been very well taken care of and was plenty large enough to accommodate us. I'm only giving 4 stars because the house was stocked with the very bare minimum of basic necessities and it made it seem as though it was an oversight that things were not restocked before out arrival...either that or the management company is a bit on the cheap side. All of the hand soap containers were just about empty, the dish soap and tabs were barely enough for the whole week (I used the last tab the morning we left, there were no cleaning supplies other than a broom and mop (but nothing to clean with), and we had to buy more paper towels, laundry soap/dryer sheets and toilet paper. Since were are a larger family I would have expected all those things to be very well stocked. We also had to sweep up a bunch of dead worms in the garage right by the door. The other suggestions I would make to the management company is to have a coat rack (especially since there is no coat closet) in the front foyer so guests don't have to pile coats on the floor or small bench. Perhaps an extra umbrella or two just in case guests forget one and it rains all the time in Oregon. In every other house we've rented the owners had a journal for guests to write in which gives it a very personal touch....people love to hear of other's experiences in the house. The other thing that would have been nice is information about dining in the area. Google is a wonderful thing but having recommendations makes it more personal. One last thing - please put up some blinds in the big bedroom upstairs as well as the piano and TV rooms! We hung a sheet over the window for privacy. In conclusion, I would highly recommend renting this house - it just needs a little extra personal touch.
