Labor Day Weekend
It's my second stay at the Lakehouse. Not a fan of hot weather so spring and fall are perfect for me. The photos here do not do the place justice. And I have stayed in many places around this lake. The view from the front window was stunning! I watched the lake change color as the sky and winds changed. The lake was too cold for these old bones but I enjoyed the lake close up. We grilled out for dinner on the deck table and had a big fire by the lake to chase off the chill and provide more ambiance. The bed was comfortable and I went to sleep to the sound of only waves and awoke to the waves complemented by birdsong. The location was so convenient. Just 1/2 hour from blue water bridge in Port Huron. 40 minutes from downtown Detroit. Just minutes from everything you may need or want to go. I just had to bring my suitcase and a few groceries. The kitchen was stocked with spices along with the cookware and dishes. I didn't need to bring bed linens or towels. Just walked in and made myself to home! I plan to return next year. If you aren't happy here, you just don't know how to be happy.
