We rented both units for a week. The second floor was clean and fairly well maintained although the blinds in the family room were broken and didn't open so we had to sit in the dark all week. The first floor- different story: The walls were very grungy and grimy. The refrigerator was broken, the toilet tank lid didn't fit and kept falling off and finally broke. Unfortunately, we are paying for the broken lid because although it didn't fit, it did break during our stay. The back yard was a complete mess - nothing but dead plants and weeds (maybe due to drought, but should still be cleaned up and maintained) and the outside furniture is mildewed and dirty and the deck desperately needs some upkeep. The grill has never been cleaned. The owner is blaming my family (75 year old grandmother, three teenage girls, and their mother) for the break in the toilet lid, the grime on the walls, and ceiling, and the broken fridge, and therefore not refunding our deposit. Owner is also saying we put pin holes in the walls, completely false, we hung nothing up on the walls and didn't bring any pins with us for our trip to SF! She wrote me a very blasphemous note. Because we lived in the grime for a week without complaining, we are paying for it. I am quite confident the owner doesn't visit the place between stays so beware and take pictures of all the dis-repair as soon as you arrive.
