Casita Mexicana is my idea of perfect
I’ve now had three stays in the Casita Mexicana (and one in the Casa Del Campo Blue Room.) I am very picky about my accommodations, and would not have returned to the Casita if it didn’t feel perfect. Although Peter and Catherine apparently have both had other successful careers, as far as I’m concerned they were put on this planet to be the extraordinary innkeepers that they are. Their passion for design, attention to detail, and exuberant hospitality has genuinely made Casa Del Campo my home-away-from-home. Catherine and Peter take sincere joy in creating a positive experience for guests, and the feel of the Casita shows it. It is a joyful and comfortable space, so functional I could easily stay there for weeks. The gardens are like a secret treasure, and I always felt welcomed in the Casa common areas. (I’m not in the least bit surprised that another guest got specially-made vegan cookies when Peter discovered she was vegan !) Equally important, they have a great sense of giving “space” to guests. They consistently were there to meet every request, yet never “hovered” or were intrusive. Previously I’ve stayed at two other pleasing and well-run accommodations in the Grass Valley / Nevada City area, but in the future the only choice for me will be “the Casa”.
