Document all aspects of the room before you move in.
This reservation was from another reservation site, but wanted to post here as well, as I would have liked a heads-up myself. Last time we stayed in this unit we had ten dollars held back from our deposit due to a picture frame allegedly receiving water damage. (plus @$37 for a "damaged" hair dryer that was damaged before our arrival. I chose not to make a stink about it, but lesson learned to document all abnormalities.) This visit, the very same frame was still there, "damaged" and all, yet owner still took out from the deposit, claiming she "was giving me a good deal by only taking ten dollars". It's a discount store frame, but it's the principal, money no matter. Then THIS stay, I forgot to clean two coffee cups, and she charged me the entire "$25 dish fee", due to my own stress and hurriedness out the door. I can see five bucks for a minute worth of work, but to charge a repeat customer $25 for cleaning two coffee cups? No sugar or cream even. Never experienced such stinginess before. Nice and cute place, served our purposes, but I refuse to support someone that operates the business as such and will not be returning.
