A Place for True Relaxing Vacation
The condo was located in a gated community surrounded by beautiful nature. Families of peacocks and chickens were in the area, contributing to create a great atmosphere. All facilities were well maintained and organized. The inside was beautifully furnished, clean, and cozy. Like other people commented, it had everything we needed, including beach umbrella, chairs, cool box, tennis rackets, body boards, a lot of towels, and more. All of these were free to use. I almost felt like I owned the condo. The owner, Keiko was so friendly and supported us all the time when we needed. It was only a few minutes drive to beautiful Makaha beach. And it was not the only one. There were so many stunning beaches along west coast line within 20 minutes drive range. We saw a group of turtles at one of the beaches. Unlike Waikiki or other beaches crowded by tourists, these beaches were very less dense. You can have plenty of spaces around between others, and water was clear. No need to worry to swim in a cocktail of suntan lotions. Pokai beach was another great spot for small kids. The wave was calm enough that my son, 6 years old were able to enjoy snorkeling and very excited to see variety of fish. There was a nice small restaurant near the beach. We took out lunch from there and had it at beach. Restaurants were limited in the area. But we found some good ones in the town of Waianae. Nice thing is that you can cook at the Condo. There were 2 super markets and they sell some good stuff. There was a nice seafood store called “Seafood City” about 25 minutes south. We picked some fresh oysters, shrimps, and Ahi (Yellow fin tuna), and cooked them. They were so good! We also visited typical tourist places like Waikiki area, Diamond head, Kauai beach, Hanauma bay, Pearl harbor, North shore, and Dole plantation. They were all within 1 hour to 1.5 hours distance by car. Actually, sceneries from the beautiful seaside road on the way to those destinations let you forget the time. Those places were nice to visit, but we enjoyed beaches near the condo best of all. I think the west coast of the island has a lot to offer, but still not known, especially for the first timers. I would recommend everyone to try this side of island at least once. And you will be amazed how beautiful it is, and how reasonable it can be to have true relaxing Hawaiian vacation.
