Wonderfully relaxing location!
For a month this home was our home-away-from-home...my husband and I, and our two adult daughters overlapped time during the month. And we're all looking forward to returning in the future!! The house is as both advertised and pictured, and both the owner and the rental property manager are wonderfully responsive. The flow of both the interior and exterior spaces met our needs perfectly! We all loved that the house is a one-minute walk to a small park, and in another minute you arrive at the cliffs overlooking spectacular surf. The proximity to the ocean - complete with being able to hear the surf continuously was one of the main draws. Also we LOVED being out of the hustle and bustle of the Kona side of the island, yet able to drive to any area we chose...and we did lots of exploring. In addition to getting over to Kona - and Maui - we also visited Volcanoes National Park, and saw the Crater outside of Jaggar Museum on a crystal clear night...where we felt like we could also reach out and touch the stars! Mona Kea, numerous beaches - including one frequented by a sea turtle who greeted everyone as they descended the short stairs - and the astonishing Hawaii Tropical Botanical Gardens. And throughout our stay - in assorted locations on both islands we were able to see whales and dolphins...including from the cliffs near the house!! Very reasonably priced and tasty Thai restaurant in Pahoa, and options in Hilo, as well as Kona, etc. But we also enjoyed cooking at the house. If you are seeking a home with new granite, tile, and an HGTV look, this isn't the place for you. But if you can be happy with a comfortable kitchen with new/fairly new appliances, vaulted roof, two porches/decks, 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a carport very reasonably priced - especially by Hawaii standards, this home is for you!
Just a few steps away from the Pacific Ocean
