If you like animals do not stay here
Home was as described...nothing more, nothing less. The disturbing part of our stay was Maggie the "Vine Yard" dog, she is a sweet mix of some sort that is very friendly and loves to be pet. While eating dinner on the patio one night she came over to the table; myself and friends noticed she has hair falling out, constantly would sit down dig at her belly, is completely mal-nourished to the point her ribs are very much visible, and her teeth are worn so much that the roots are visible to the naked eye. The situation is bad enough that myself and friends lost appetite for the steaks and salmon we prepared and instead fed the remainder of our dinner to Maggie. While eating dinner Bob (the owner) came out to ask how our stay was going, we explained our concern for Maggie, that she needed serious attention quickly; we were told that Bob's son lives on the property an that Maggie is his, Bob explained that his son has had "some issues" and doesn't take care of her, Bob stated that he feeds her when he can. My friends and I are all dog lovers, we decided at dinner that Maggie could home with us, taken to our local vet to start rehabilitation then placed with a family, we explained this to Bob and offered to pay for her; his response was "I will talk with my son". We were also told she is often picked up on the highway directly behind the property. For the following two days of our stay we did not see Maggie again, we feel she was kept away because of our concern. If you are an animal lover I would not recommend staying at this property.
